R. Kane Maurer grew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania where the air smells like chocolate and the libraries are well-stocked with books. He recently moved to Winchester, Virginia with his wife and daughter. The Forbidden Powers is his first series. When he isn’t writing, he devotes himself to reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. He enjoys skiing, surfing, and wakeboarding, but his enthusiasm far outdis- tances his aptitude.
